PlayStation to skip Gamescom 2022

No Sony at Opening Night Live either.

Sony PlayStation will skip Gamescom 2022, the publisher has recently confirmed.

The news comes from German website Games Wirtschaft, by way of Games Industry.

Sony is just the latest publisher to announce it will skip Gamescom for at least this year; Activision Blizzard, Take-Two and Nintendo have previously made similar announcements.

Gamescom 2022 will run as a hybrid event this year, offering both online and in-person events. The event will run between 24-28 August 2022 in Cologne, Germany and will be the first in-person instance of the event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

We’ll keep you informed of Gamescom 2022 as we get closer to the event.
