The PlayStation Classic is Sony’s answer to the NES Classic Mini

Update: Sony’s confirmed the PlayStation Classic will cost Aussies $149.99 AUD.

Original story: The PlayStation Classic was just announced by Sony, a mini-console that celebrates the PSone.

Bundled with 20 games, the PlayStation Classic will retail for $99.99 USD or $129.99 CAN — Aussie pricing has yet to be confirmed — and is available on 3 December.

Sony has yet to detail all 20 pre-loaded classic PSone games that come with the mini-console. Titles that have been confirmed are as follows:

  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Jumping Flash
  • Ridge Racer Type 4
  • Tekken 3
  • Wild Arms

The mini-console is 45% smaller than the original PlayStation and comes complete with an HDMI cable, two controllers for “local multiplayer with compatible titles” and a USB cable to charge them.

We’re looking into Australian pricing details now. A couple more images of the PlayStation Classic can be found over at the PlayStation Blog.
