PlayStation Back Button Attachment adds Xbox Elite-like functionality

Update: The peripheral will be available in Australia from 14 February 2020, priced at $49.95 AUD.

Original story: A PlayStation Back Button Attachment will be available in January 2020 and will add Xbxo Elite-like functionality, Sony today announced.

The attachment will slide onto the bottom of a standard DualShock 4 and will add two physical back buttons to the controller. In total, 16 PlayStation controller buttons can be mapped to either of the back buttons. An OLED screen will show you what’s been mapped where; up to three mapped profeiles can be stored and swapped between at one time.

The attachment also sports a 3.5mm headset passthrough so you can use your current set of cans with the setup.

Expect the PlayStation Back Button Attachment from 23 January 2020, priced at $30 USD. We’ll update this post with Australian pricing as it’s made available.
