Perfect Dark voice actor asks fans to join and save the game

"Speak up if you wanna see Perfect Dark survive."

Perfect Dark voice actor Alix Wilton Regan has taken to social media to ask fans to band together and fight for its survival, following news that the latest batch of Microsoft layoffs has led to not only the cancellation of the game, but the closure of developer The Intitiative.

“Joanna is resilient. Determined. Creative. Caring. Strong,” she said of her character, protagonist Joanna Dark.

“Agent Dark doesn’t give up & neither should any of you. It’s been an honour to work with the talents at The Initiative. My heart hurts for everyone affected by today. But like Joanna, we will all rise again,” she continued, adding that fans should, “speak up if you wanna see Perfect Dark survive”.

Adding to this was Deus Ex and Star Trek Discovery actor Elias Toufexis, who added that he expects to lose “thousands of dollars” as a result of Perfect Dark‘s cancellation.

Toufexis said that he’d spend “a good amount of days of acting in Perfect Dark” that are now “scrapped” as a result of the cancellation.

The actor said he was paid for work he’d already engaged in, but expected follow-up work that would have lead to more paychecks.

“These games getting cancelled is a constant threat,” Toufexis continued, “now every game I do as director or actor I wake up hoping it isn’t cancelled.”
