People think a random trailer is a tease for Left 4 Dead 3

Update: As we suspected, Valve has confirmed with PC Gamer that the video teaser is a fake. Left 4 Dead 3 is not a thing.

Original story: File this under random ‘news’: the internet is going crazy over an anonymous trailer from an obviously unconfirmed source that allegedly teases Left 4 Dead 3.

The trailer includes the franchise’s famed zombie hand alongside a date of 11 June 2019. We’ve included it below, though we highly doubt it’s anything official from Valve. It was uploaded today to an account with no other videos, and given a rather gibberish title in an attempt to prolong its mystery, no doubt.

While we do give props to the creator of the video for some truly spectacular work, others think as we do about its veracity. Most point to the box of Life cereal that features midway through the trailer, saying it’s unlikely a real-world product would be licensed for this work.

While Valve owns the Left 4 Dead IP, developer Turtle Rock has already announced plans for a spiritual successor in the form of Back 4 Blood. The developer’s been relatively tight-lipped on the project, but we do know it’s being developed for Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. We’ll keep you posted.
