Palpatine temporarily removed from Star Wars Battlefront 2

Sith Lord Emperor Palpatine has been temporarily removed from Star Wars Battlefront 2, EA and DICE have today confirmed.

A 28 June hotfix designed to fix several Palpatine bugs actually brought a giant one back into play: the Sith Lord could once again target and harm opponents through walls using his Sith lightning. As a result, Palpatine’s been removed until a proper fix can be implemented.

“We plan to execute our Kill Switch [for Emperor Palpatine],” DICE’s Ben Walke explained.

“This means he will be removed from the game. He will be disabled until a hotfix can be deployed. We don’t take this decision lightly, but we feel it is in the best interest for everyone until a fix can be deployed.”

We’ll let you know when Palpatine is once again available in-game.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
