Original story: Overwatch‘s Summer Games event will return in 2018, Blizzard has today confirmed.

Here in Australia, Blizzard has advised that we’ll be able to take part in the event from 10 August onwards.

Summer Games revolves around the popular Lúcioball game type, a cross between soccer and Overwatch in which all players use Lúcio. Need another way of thinking about it? Sure — it’s Rocket League without the cars.

Last year’s Summer Games event updated Lúcioball to include the Sydney Harbour map — it’s unclear if new enhancements will be made. As with past Overwatch events, it’s likely we’ll see new skins, sprays and more alongside the availability of past Summer Games drops. The event itself started off in 2016 as an homage to the Rio Summer Olympics.

We’ll have more on Overwatch‘s Summer Games 2018 event as it’s made available.

Overwatch is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
