OD is coming from Hideo Kojima, Jordan Peele and Xbox

WHAT??

OD was today detailed by Microsoft and Kojima Productions at the Game Awards 2023 and is a collaboration between Hideo Kojima and none other than Jordan Peele.

Peele, a comedian, has also made a name for himself of late as the mastermind behind horror films such as Us, Nope and Get Out.

OD stars Sophia Lillis, who you might know from It, It Chapter Two, and I Am Not Okay With This, amongst other high-profile actors including Hunter Schafer (Euphoria) and Udo Kier (Bacurau).

As part of the announcement, its trailer said it was “for all players and screamers”.

OD is likely what was once known as Overdose, though rumours about the project revolved around the including of Death Stranding‘s Margaret Qualley, who played Mama.

Update: Kojima Productions has confirmed that OD will leverage Microsoft’s cloud technology.

“We are working with Xbox Game Studios and their cloud gaming technology to take on the challenge of creating a very unique, immersive, and totally new style of game – or rather, a new form of media,” Kojima said in a statement sent after the title’s official announcement.

We’ll update you as we learn more of OD.
