No Man’s Sky Desolation update brings horror to the space sim

The No Man’s Sky Desolation update will add Alien-like horror the game, Hello Games has today unveiled.

The trailer below detailed the “mysterious abandoned freighters floating in space and ripe for scavenging and looting”… alongside the terrifying creatures that will lie in wait as you do so.

Desolation comes alongside the game’s 2.6 update, which adds improved lighting effects, new items, and increased inventory and customisation options for capital ships. Full patch notes are available on Hello Games’ website (though it’s currently down at the time of writing).

No Man’s Sky is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. We don’t like the way it has distributed its Achievements.
