Nintendo confirms it’s skipping E3 2023

Not unexpected... but still painful.

Nintendo has confirmed it will also be skipping E3 2023, adding some credibility to larger rumours that popped up earlier this month.

While Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony were all rumoured to be giving ReedPop’s newly acquired convention a miss, Nintendo is the first to actually confirm it won’t be there.

“We approach our involvement in any event on a case-by-case basis and are always considering various ways to engage with our fans,” Nintendo said in a statement to IGN.

“Since this year’s E3 show didn’t fit into our plans, we have made the decision to not participate. However, we have been and continue to be a strong supporter of the ESA and E3.”

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

E3’s been in a little strife of late; the announcement of ReedPop’s control over the event nevertheless means it’s in direct competition with the juggernaut that is the Summer Game Fest.
