Nintendo Accounts to be locked to Switch user profiles next week

Nintendo Accounts will be locked to Switch user profiles after an update is released next week.

In preparation for the Nintendo Switch Online service, Nintendo has advised that an 18 September software update will make it so players cannot unlink their Nintendo Account from their Switch user profile.

Much like some games — including Splatoon 2will not have access to Nintendo Switch Online’s cloud save service, this looks to be one step that Nintendo’s taking to safeguard the online service.

Nintendo has advised that users have until 5.00 pm PDT on 18 September, or 10.00 am AEST on 19 September here in Australia, to unlink their Nintendo Account from their Switch profile.
