New Xbox accessibility options allow pairing without touching a console

Your controller can sync with new methods.

New Xbox accessibility options will let users pair a controller without touching an Xbox console, Microsoft has today announced.

“Wireless pairing just got more accessible, as direct contact with your console to press the pair button is no longer required,” Microsoft said via Xbox Wire.

“From the comfort of a couch, wheelchair, hospital bed… players can now put their console into pairing mode using an Xbox media remote, digital assistant voice command, or previously paired controller to connect a new controller to their console,” Microsoft continued.

Instructions here detail how the new pairing functionality can be used.

Other additional accessibility options include the launch of the Game Accessibility Settings menu inside the Xbox Game Bar on PC, a playbook for accessible gaming events, the remapping of Elite 2 and Xbox Adaptive Controller to keyboard mapping, and a new Accessibility in Games channel on the Xbox Store and Xbox.com.
