New Tomb Raider game to be detailed, released in 2018

A new Tomb Raider game is coming and will be detailed during “a major event” in 2018, Square Enix today detailed.

“Square Enix is excited to share some big news with you next year,” a post on Twitter begins. “Honestly, we wish we could share it with you right now, but we’re taking a new approach this time.

“A new Tomb Raider game is coming.”

The post continues to say “it won’t be very long between the official reveal and when you can play.”

Now, we wait. Square Enix concluded the post by saying “our journey together will begin with a major event in 2018,” so we’re left in the dark until next month at the very least.

If the message above seems a bit wonky, it’s likely because Square Enix embedded a little code within it. Our friends at The Know cracked it, below:

Shadow of the Tomb Raider, perhaps?

The last Tomb Raider title, Rise of the Tomb Raider, began life as a timed-exclusive on Xbox One.
