New Tape to Tape demo heads to Steam in February

Get hype!

A new Tape to Tape demo will showcase the upcoming hockey roguelike in February, its developer has announced.

While Tape to Tape already has a demo available on Steam — and we’ve used it as part of a preview written last year — this new demo will be more indicative of its full experience.

The new demo is expected on 1 February, so more like 2 February here in Australia.

“You will finally be able to play through the first act of the campaign,” developer Excellent Rectangle said in a new Kickstarter update.

“Quite a few challenges await you as you make your way to the Cheating Referees, the first boss challenge of Tape To Tape,” the update continued. “How will you build your team? Which powerups will you add to your arsenal? Every choice you make will have a great impact on your squad!”

The currently update only offers up actual hockey gameplay, as a comparison.

Update [2 February 2023]: The Tape to Tape demo is now available via Steam; you can download it here. You can also check out our own gameplay recording below.

Tape to Tape is planned for a full release on Windows PC via Steam sometime in April 2023.

Disclosure: The author of this piece has backed Tape to Tape on Kickstarter after playing its demo.
