New Pokemon game announcement coming later tonight

A new Pokemon game announcement is coming later tonight as part of a special Pokemon Presents livestream, The Pokemon Company has today confirmed.

While the English language version of a tweet is rather ambiguous, promising “Pokemon news,” the Japanese language promotion of the event specificially details a reveal. In fact, the livestream is called “Pokemon new game announcement Pokémon Presents” (when translated, of course).

If Aussies are interested in watching, the event will take place at 11.00 pm AEST tonight, 17 June. We’ve embedded the YouTube livestream below.

It’s likely the 11-minute event will also include details of Pokemon Sword and Shield’s upcoming Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra expansions, both due this year.

Pokemon Sword and Shield is currently available on Nintendo Switch, while Pokemon Go continues to be a powerhouse on iOS and Android devices. What are you hoping for from tonight’s event?
