New AFL game teased by Big Ant Studios

Oh, so subtly too...

A new AFL game is in the works over at Big Ant Studios, with the developer taking to social media to tease it ahead of a full reveal.

Big Ant head Ross Symoms is leading the charge, first taking to Twitter with a video that reads, “I’ve got a feeling.” Hunters & Collectors famed “Holy Grail” — an AFL anthem — is heard playing overtop.

Not to be outdone, Big Ant’s Twitter account has retweeted the post, adding, “and just like that [Ross Symons] letting Cats, Lions and Tigers, etc. out of the bag.”

When asked for comment, a Big Ant representative told Stevivor they had nothing further to share at this time.

Big Ant’s last AFL game was AFL Live way back in 2011 (above, with thanks to an image I’m sure Ben Salter grabbed back in the day), published by Tru Blu Entertainment. We’ve had three major AFL titles since then, all developed by Wicked Witch Software and published by Tru Blu: AFL Live 2, AFL Evolution and AFL Evolution 2. A new Big Ant game would mean AFL has potentially taken licensing away from Tru Blu to allow Big Ant and parent company Nacon a go.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
