Netflix hires former EA exec to push into video games

"Netflix for games" from... Netflix.

Netflix is looking to push into video games and has hired former EA executive Mike Verdu to help bolster efforts, Bloomberg today reports.

Verdu will serve as vice president of game development and will report to Netflix Chief Operating Officer Greg Peters.

Bloomberg’s report continues to state that Netflix plans to release games onto its service as early as next year, 2022.

Mike Verdu was senior vice president of EA Mobile, working on titles including Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, SimCity BuildIt, Plants vs Zombies and more. Since EA, he’s acted as vice president of AR and VR content at Facebook.
