My First Gran Turismo is a free trial of Gran Turismo 7 coming this week

What a title.

My First Gran Turismo is meant to be just that, a free-to-play trial of Gran Turismo 7 targeting those new to the long-running racing franchise.

“The Gran Turismo series was born in 1997 as the ‘The Real Driving Simulator,’ and has continued to be loved by fans the world over,” Sony said as part of ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations. “‘My First Gran Turismo is a gift for those who have yet to experience Gran Turismo.”

Cutting through all the marketing speak, though, My Gran Turismo is a souped-up trial version of Gran Turismo 7. It’s as yet unclear if progression will transfer between My First Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 7, or if this trial has any Trophy support on its own.

“This isn’t just about playing a game; it’s about embarking on a personal driving journey,” Sony continued. “We’ve made sure the experience is intuitive, allowing anyone to get behind the wheel and master the essentials, such as cornering, braking, and acceleration. By playing it, users will build confidence one lap at a time, tackling new challenges that’ll steadily refine their driving skills.”

Take a look at what to expect in the trailer above.

My First Gran Turismo heads to PS4 and PS5 on 7 December here in Australia, while Gran Turismo 7 is currently available on PS4 and PS5. We reviewed the original here.
