MLB The Show 25 ditches last-gen, Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation Plus

Want it? Buy it.

MLB The Show 25 is shedding a bunch of things this year, including last-gen iterations and access via subscription services including Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

The baseball game’s omission from Xbox Game Pass is perhaps the most notable — the title has been available yearly on day one since 2021.

“We are also thrilled to announce that MLB The Show 25 will launch on March 18 [or 19 March in Australia], on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch,” wrote Sony’s Ramone Russell on the PlayStation Blog. “The game will not be on platform subscription services in 2025. Early Access begins on March 14, for anyone who purchases the Digital Deluxe Edition.”

This year’s cover stars include Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson.

“These rising stars join a rich history of legendary cover athletes, symbolizing the future of baseball as we celebrate 20 incredible years of the franchise,” Russell added.

Expect MLB The Show 25 on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5 from 19 March.
