Minecraft Battle mode heading free to consoles next month

Mojang today announced that console editions of Minecraft will soon receive a free mini-game called Minecraft Battle.

As you probably expect, the mini-game offers up first-person combat within the Minecraft universe.

Each battle will take place in a specially-designed area, complete with plentiful chests. Weapons, armour and resources are randomly generated in those chests, thereby making each contest different from the last.

The mini-game will launch sometime next month.

Minecraft is available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.
