Microsoft will not be on the E3 2023 show floor

It's doing it's own thing.

Microsoft will not be on the E3 2023 show floor, the publisher has today confirmed.

Speaking with IGN, a Microsoft rep said, “we can’t wait to host our Xbox Games Showcase on June 11 and will share more details later. We also look forward to co-streaming our event as part of E3 Digital and will not be on the E3 showfloor.”

In past E3 years, Microsoft was adjacent to the main event, instead operating out of its own Microsoft Theatre just next to the Los Angeles Convention Centre. While it’s a little unclear if Microsoft will even go to those lengths later this year, the company did say back in January that “we [will] return to Los Angeles for our yearly Showcase this summer.”

Microsoft has confirmed two livestream events taking place in June — an Xbox and Bethesda Showcase and a Starfield-specific livestream. Both are scheduled for 12 June here in Australia.

Nintendo has already confirmed that it will not be taking part in E3 2023.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
