Microsoft Internet Games discontinued on Windows ME, XP, 7

Microsoft Internet Games will be discontinued on Windows ME, Windows XP and Windows 7 in the coming months, Microsoft has confirmed.

The following titles will be impacted by the decision:

  • Internet Backgammon (XP, ME, 7)
  • Internet Checkers (XP, ME, 7)
  • Internet Spades (XP, ME, 7)
  • Internet Hearts (XP, ME)
  • Internet Reversi (XP, ME)
  • MSN Go (7)

All Microsoft Internet Games services on Windows XP and ME will be discontinued at the end of this month, 31 July 2019. That will be followed by the discontinuation of Microsoft Internet Games services on Windows 7 from 22 January 2020.

“While we’re saddened to leave this chapter behind, we continue to be committed to delivering engaging, delightful gaming experiences,” Microsoft said of the decision. “We hope you’ll come with us on this journey and join the community of any of the other Microsoft casual games.”
