Microsoft Flight Simulator install size halved by new update

Excellent!

The Microsoft Flight Simulator install size has been nearly halved thanks to a new update.

As first spotted by PC GamerFlight Sim will now take up 83GB of your hard drive, as compared to 170GB originally.

Speaking to the site, Microsoft said it “performed some optimization for the initial full download of the title.”

The smaller download footprint comes as part of Microsoft Flight Simulator‘s Sim Update 4, otherwise known as patch 1.16.20.0.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently available on Windows PC, also available through Xbox Game Pass for PC and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. A release on Xbox Series S & X is planned for later in the year. We reviewed the title here.
