Microsoft drops Xbox Game Pass $1 trial

Full price or bust.

Microsoft has confirmed it has dropped a $1 Xbox Game Pass trial after the deal disappeared from its websites.

DualShockers spotted the lack of a $1 deal yesterday, prompting Microsoft to confirm.

“We have stopped our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer.

Xbox Game Pass pricing is set at $10.95 AUD a month on console (Xbox Game Pass) and PC (PC Game Pass); you can get both for $15.95 AUD a month (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate). Australia should also gain access to Xbox Friends and Family relatively soon; that offer bundles up Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for five separate accounts at a discounted rate.

RIP, cheap Game Pass trial. You’ll be missed.
