Microsoft has admitted they’re aware of the increasing amount of spam messages sent to legitimate users via Xbox Live messaging, and are currently working to curb it.
The messages usually attempt to steer users to other websites, usually with claims of free consoles or FIFA Points.
Microsoft is working to make it easier to report spammers, but in the meantime, Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb took to Twitter to offer a fix.

Keep in mind that the above fix will block messages from anyone but those on your Friends list, meaning you won’t be receiving any in-game game or Party requests from those you encounter in Destiny or Evolve.
