Copilot will now tell you what to do with your wood.
Microsoft is continuing its strategy of force-feeding customers its AI product, this time showing off Copilot for Gaming on Xbox.
“This AI-driven sidekick is designed to be your personalized gaming companion, helping you get to your favorite games faster, coaching you to improve your skills, and connecting you better with your friends and communities,” wrote Microsoft’s Jeff Rubenstein. “Copilot for Gaming will be there when you need it but out of the way if you don’t.”
In examples shown on Xbox Wire, Copilot for Gaming will respond to questions like, “I’ve got some wood. What do I do with that?” in Minecraft or “What’s the best way to take out The Beast?” in Age of Empires 4.
It’s unclear how Copilot for Gaming is able to assist gamers, but one would reasonably assume the AI solution is able to do so via scraping of content, like this humble video game site, and its guides sections.
As we noted earlier this year, Microsoft has been aggressively pushing Copilot onto its customers subscribers. If you’re an Office 365 Microsoft 365 Copilot subscriber and want things like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive without AI functionality, you can disable that here and save yourself some money in the process as well.
At any rate, Copilot for Gaming will be available to Xbox Insiders soon.
