Metroid Dread trailer shows off combat, enemies and more

And we didn't know they existed until now!

A new Metroid Dread trailer has been released and shows off in-game powers and the enemies that Samus Aran will face.

Bundled alongside the Metroid Dread Report Volume 6, the trailer is part of a series that also goes behind-the-scenes of the narrative at the core of the upcoming shooter.

“The new trailer shows Samus under attack from a mysterious opponent soon after she lands on planet ZDR – and that mysterious figure appears to be a Chozo,” Nintendo said of the trailer.

“The Chozo were a highly intelligent and technologically advanced species who believed their purpose to be that of bringing peace throughout the galaxy. Eventually, the civilization reached a breaking point, and living Chozo are now rarely seen. Who is this Chozo warrior, and why do they attack Samus so fiercely?”

As you can likely guess, there are five other volumes that go in-depth into the game, expected in October.

Expect Metroid Dread on Nintendo Switch from 8 October.
