Mass Effect sequel teases the involvement of the Geth

Yes, please!

A new Mass Effect sequel teaser poster has teased the involvement of the Geth.

In celebration of N7 Day, Mass Effect developer BioWare has released a poster that shows a team of four (or maybe five) investigating a crater when taken at face value. Looking deeper, however, the crater is designed to look like the franchise’s answer to Star Trek’s Borg.

There’s clearly a Krogan and an Asari in the grouping of four, while the figure they’re either trailing behind — or walking towards — appears to be Geth itself.

While this is meant to be a tease, people are already heavily analysing the image. There’s a lot to factor in here; perhaps the Geth near the crater is Legion, who sacrificed themself near the conclusion of Mass Effect 3. Depending on a player’s choice, the entire Geth race may or may not be wiped out, so the figure could be a different member of the Geth entirely. There’s also the question of whether or not the Geth is alive or dead, or friend or foe for that matter.

We have another [N7 Day] surprise for you from the team working on the next Mass Effect,” flavour text accompanying the image reads. “Thank you all for being the best fans in the world!”

You can check out the full poster below.

We’ll have more on Mass Effect 4 when it’s made available.
