Rejoice, Xbox players!
The Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection will also be released on Xbox after Capcom entered into “technical discussions” with Microsoft to make it happen, it has today confirmed.
“We’re excited to announce that after technical discussions with our partners at Microsoft, we can confirm that Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will release on Xbox One,” Capcom wrote in a recent update.
Both Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 were announced for PS4, Switch, and Steam back in June and August, respectively. It’s understood that technological barriers on Xbox Series and PS5 consoles prevented direct releases — hence, the title’s availability on PS4 natively, and on PS5 through backwards compatibility.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the bundles, here’s what’s available within each:
- Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: X-Men Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom Clash of Super Heroes, Marvel vs Capcom 2 New Age of Heroes, and The Punisher
- Capcom Fighting Collection 2: Capcom vs SNK, Capcom vs SNK 2, Project Justice, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Plasma Sword, Power Stone, and Power Stone 2
The Xbox versions of both titles have a vague 2025 release date at present.
Both Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 head to Windows PC via Steam, PS4, and Switch in 2024, and later on Xbox in 2025.
