Marathon Server Slam lets you try the extraction shooter before you buy

Not a bad deal!

If you’re on the fence about Bungie’s upcoming extraction shooter Marathon, an upcoming Server Slam will let you try before you buy on your favourite platform of choice.

Running between 27 February and 3 March here in Australia (26 February to 2 March in North America), the Server Slam will serve as an “introduction to Marathon’s gameplay,” according to Bungie.

The Server Slam will let players infil into two zones — Perimeter and Dire Marsh — and taken on opening contracts for five of Marathon‘s factions. You’ll also be able to try out all six Runner Shells, plus Rook in scavenger mode. Solo queuing and proximity chat will be enabled during the server slam.

Moreover, Bungie also detailed that PlayStation Plus subscribers will get special weapon charms inspired by Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2, and Helldivers 2.

Marathon is now planned for a 5 March 2026 release on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5. The Server Slam will be available on all platforms.
