Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal cast as Joel in Last of Us TV show

We've got our Joel and Ellie.

The news comes hot on the heels of the casting of as Game of Thrones’ Bella Ramsey as Ellie. It also followed rumours Mahershala Ali had been cast in the role.

First reported by  The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, Naughty Dog has since taken to Twitter to congratulate Pascal’s casting.

Did we say we’re building out the cast? Thrilled to see [Pedro Pascal] join [Bella Ramsey] on the HBO series of The Last of Us,” the studio wrote.

The Last of Us will air on HBO, a production of Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Word Games and Naughty Dog. A release date has not yet been named.
