Kojima Productions says report of Konami firing Kojima untrue

Kojima Productions has said that a report that states Hideo Kojima was fired from Konami because he diverted funds away from Metal Gear Solid 5 is “categorically false”.

A report from Gameblog.fr alleges that Konami fired the game director as he redirected funds allocated to Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain to PT, the playable teaser that announced the (now cancelled) Silent Hills.

“[Kojima Productions] normally does not comment on rumors or speculation, however we can confirm that the article recently posted on [Gameblog.fr] is categorically false,” Kojima Productions’ Jay Boor wrote on Twitter.

Kojima’s latest work is Death Stranding, available now on PS4 and coming to PC next month.
