John Wick 4 delayed to 2022

John Wick 4 is the latest property to be delayed as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis, pushed back all the day to 2022.

Originally expected in theatres on 21 May 2021, John Wick Chapter 4 will now head to big screens more than a year later on 27 May 2022. Other Lionsgate films have been impacted as well — Spiral, Saw spin-off, has been delayed to 21 May 2021 (from 15 May 2020) and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds has been pushed from August 2020 to August 2021.

“As audiences from around the world head back to theaters, most will return feeling that specialness that only the traditional theatrical experience can offer,” Damon Wolf, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Global Distribution, said in a statement.

“Lionsgate is thrilled to present such a wide variety of films with many more to come. From great branded IP to unique stories from new voices, the terrifying reimagined and some truly hysterical comedy, we join with our partners in exhibition in welcoming movie lovers back to their favorite theaters with something special for everyone.”

We’ll have more on John Wick Chapter 4 as its made available. If you’re after something to fill the void, don’t forget that John Wick Hex is available now on Windows PC and heads to PS4 on 5 May.
