id Software Steam listings consolidated for ease

It's time to get a lot less confusing.

A host of id Software Steam listings will be consolidated for ease of use, meaning it should be a lot easier to find the iteration of Doom 3 you’re actually after.

“Starting August 10, we will begin rolling out changes to our Steam Store listings for select id Software games. In short, we are consolidating each game under one major title and/or changing the title for a simpler shopping experience,” the publisher stated.

That means titles like Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil and Doom 3 BFG Edition will essentially be delisted from Steam, but never fear as they’ll be bundled with Doom 3 as a single entry.

All titles to be consolidated are as follows:

  • Quake 2 Demo
  • Quake 3 Arena Demo
  • Quake 3 Team Arena Demo
  • Quake 3 Team Arena (now included with Quake 3 Arena)
  • Final Doom (now included with Doom 2)
  • Master Levels for Doom 2 (now included with Doom 2)
  • Quake 2 Mission Pack: The Reckoning (now included with the Quake 2 launcher)
  • Quake 2 Mission Pack: Ground Zero (now included with the Quake 2 launcher)
  • Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (now included with Doom 3)
  • Doom 3: BFG Edition (now included with Doom 3)
  • Doom Classic Complete Bundle (replaced by the Doom Classic Bundle)

Delisted titles will still remain in Steam library listings if owned.

Players who owned Doom 3 BFG Edition will automatically be upgraded to Doom 3.

What do you make of id Software’s move?
