Hot Wheels Rift Rally is a mix-reality game from Velan Studios

Knockout City no more.

Hot Wheels Rift Rally is a new mixed-reality game from Velan Studios, the developer of similar work Mario Kart Live Home Circuit.

The title relies upon a physically-controlled remote-control vehicle, alongside physical track elements, which then work in tandem with digital assets. If you’re confused about what this means, check out our review of Home Circuit here.

A physical Chameleon car will be able to take on the digital characteristics of a number of Hot Wheels cars when racing, including the likes of Twin Mill, Bone Shaker, Mach Speeder and more.

Velan Studios also announced it would soon be pulling the plug on Knockout City, a dodgeball-inspired title that was once published by EA.

Hot Wheels Rift Rally heads to PS4, PS5 and iOS on 14 March.
