Horizon Forbidden West delayed to February 2022

The rumours were true.

The rumours were true: Horizon Forbidden West has been delayed into next year and is now expected on PS4 and PS5 from 18 February 2022.

“It’s no surprise that our teams were hugely impacted by the global pandemic; we have been adjusting to new workflows, protocols, and other challenges, while keeping our teams safe and prioritizing a healthy work/life balance,” Guerrilla Games’ Mathijs de Jonge wrote on the PlayStation Blog, detailing the new release date.

Pre-orders will kick off on 2 September 2021.

“While the decision to move the game’s launch to 2022 certainly wasn’t easy, we’d like to take a moment to thank all of our fans for their unwavering support; we know how much you’ve been looking forward to reuniting with Aloy and her friends, continuing her story, and exploring a new and more dangerous world,” de Jonge continued. “Your passion, fan art, cosplay, virtual photography, and videos have meant the world to all of us.”

The news was accompanied by the announcement that Horizon Zero Dawn has received an enhanced performance patch for PS5, offering up a targeted 60FPS and 4K checkerboard resolution.

Horizon Forbidden West heads to PS4 and PS5 on 18 February 2022.
