Yikes.
Highguard will be shut down on 12 March, less than three months after its launch, its developer today announced.
“Since launch, more than 2 million players stepped into Highguard’s world. You shared feedback, created content, and many believed in what we were building. For that, we are deeply grateful,” developer Wildlight said on social media.
“Despite the passion and hard work of our team, we have not been able to build a sustainable player base to support the game long term,” it continued. “Servers will remain online until March 12th. We hope you’ll jump in with us one more time to show your support and get those final great matches in while we still can.”
The game will get a new Warden, a new weapon, and skill trees in the days leading up to its closure.
Highguard debuted on 26 January 2026, following a lacklustre reveal at last year’s Game Awards. It’s currently available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
