Heretic + Hexen out now on PC, consoles, and Xbox Game Pass

Heretic + Hexen is a “restored” and “improved” collection of several retro titles, announced at QuakeCon and immediately available on a variety of platforms.

The package, priced at $22.45 AUD, includes:

  • Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders
  • Hexen: Beyond Heretic
  • Hexen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel

It also includes “two all-new episodes created in collaboration between individuals at id Software + Nightdive Studios”, as follows:

  • Heretic: Faith Renewed
  • Hexen: Vestiges of Grandeur

New features to the package include online cross-platform and local split-screen deathmatch and co-op modes, a toggleable enhanced soundtrack from Andrew Hulshult, in-game mod support, support for up to 4K and 120 FPS on consoles, widescreen monitor support on PC, and a host of quality of life improvements.

“Existing owners of any of the above games will receive a free upgrade to the new combined game and can still access their previously owned versions,” id Software also advised.

Heretic + Hexen is out now on Windows PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, alongside Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and Switch. It’s also on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
