Hawkeye is Avengers’ first post-launch hero

Hawkeye will be added to Avengers as post-launch content, developer Crystal Dynamics confirmed in the second Avengers War Table livestream overnight.

Moreover, Hawkeye — or Clint Barton for those curious as to which version of the hero will appear — will be added as free content after the game’s launch.

“In a completely original story-arc inspired by some of the best-known Hawkeye moments in the comics, players wield Hawkeye’s iconic high-tech bow and trick arrows in missions either solo or co-op online with friends,” Crystal Dynamics said of the addition.

“Hawkeye’s story will continue to move the entire Marvel’s Avengers narrative world forward, and all new missions are accessible with the entire roster of playable heroes. More information about this and additional post-launch content, including the new villain and other content debuting with Hawkeye’s story, will be available soon.”

You can watch the full Avengers War Table from last night below.

Avengers heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Stadia where available on 4 September. A series of betas are available over August.
