Halo Wars 2: Card-based, multiplayer beta planned for late January

Creative Assembly and 343 Industries today confirmed that Halo Wars 2 will host another multiplayer beta ahead of its February launch.

During 20-30 January, players will have the chance to play the title’s new, card-based mode, Blitz.

The beta will use the Proving Grounds map, offering up 3v3, 2v2 and 1v1 modes.

“I’m personally really excited to share this next big milestone with our fan community and look forward to your feedback, which we’ll be watching closely in the Halo Waypoint forums,” 343’s Dan Ayoub said of the beta. “The team will be monitoring all of our backend and under-the-hood systems but we also look forward to your thoughts around gameplay, balance and the Blitz “meta” game.”

Halo Wars 2 heads to Windows PC and Xbox One as an Xbox Play Anywhere title on 21 February.
