Halo Infinite devs aren’t actively fixing multiplayer player collision issues

"Devs that would work on these fixes have been allocated to other Infinite work."

Halo Infinite developers aren’t actively working on player collision issues that have plagued the title since its release last year, a 343 Industries employee has confirmed.

343’s Brian Berryhill took a Reddit post with the statement explaining the situation.

“I don’t know if twitter/reddit is the best place to go into all the details about why there’s been a lack of UCN [networking] improvement, there’s a lot of factors, so I’ll keep it brief,” he wrote.

“The TLDR of it is the devs that would work on these fixes have been allocated to other Infinite work. Their work has had some knock on benefit to our UCN solution, especially around movers (players, vehicles, etc.) on object devices (elevators, pistons, bridges etc.), but not around the melee and ‘around the wall’ shots. These devs are coming home to Sandbox soon (hopefully).”

The original creator of the Reddit post, who attached a compilation video of instances where melee hits weren’t registering properly, replied and said they were “pretty disheartened” at the news.

“The community has been extremely outspoken on this issue and I think this is one of the top reasons people are leaving the game due to the frustration caused,” wrote Skeeter_206. “Hopefully this gets the attention by the devs it deserves sooner rather than later.”

Halo Infinite is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X; it’s also part of Xbox and PC Game Pass.
