A Halo “digital feature” will arrive ahead of a TV show or future movie

Microsoft and 343 Industries yesterday advised that a Halo “digital feature project” will be released this year.

Our sources say it won’t be a movie, and this isn’t referring to the TV series mentioned at the Xbox One launch.

What is confirmed is that both Ridley Scott (Blade Runner) and Sergio Mimica-Gezzanto (Battlestar Galactica) are attached. Mimica-Gezzanto has directed epic science fiction before, so shouldn’t have a hard time directing this Halo production.

Past live-action Halo works include the Forward Unto Dawn webseries, plus “Scanned,” a short produced by David Fincher which can be seen above.

Steven Spielberg has been attached to the announced-but-not-yet-detailed Halo television series.
