Halo 5 local server support available in November

Halo 5 local server support was just announced by developer 343 Industries.

Available in November, the support means Xbox One players can take advantage of LAN play using a local PC. Those connected to the PC will be able to connect with one another for the purposes of fragging.

As highlighted by NeoGAF, it’s likely the support will require an internet connection to authenticate; we’re in the process of confirming this with Microsoft now. Update: Microsoft has confirmed the PC server will need an internet connection.

The news was detailed in a recent livestream — you can watch it below.

We’ll have more on Halo 5 local server support as it’s made available. The game is available now on Xbox One. For those looking for a Halo fix on PC itself, try Halo 5: Forge.
