Guardians of the Galaxy has no DLC and no microtransactions

You have access to everything it's got when you buy it.

Guardians of the Galaxy will have no DLC and no microtransactions, according to developer Eidos Montreal.

“There isn’t going to be any DLC for this game,” Executive Narrative Director Mary DeMarle told Stevivor. “There isn’t going to be any microtransactions.”

“That’s because, for us, it’s very important that on day one, when players get this game, they can have access to everything there is about this game and to experience it. Right off the bat, they can get all of the costumes or outfits that are available, they can find all the abilities as they progress through the game. It’s all there.”

Moreover, Eidos Montreal has confirmed with Stevivor that costumes offered as part of Guardians‘ Cosmic Deluxe Edition or through a pre-order bonus are still obtainable to everyone with the game.

“The pre-order bonuses are simply early unlocks,” an Eidos Montreal spokesperson told us. “All players will also be able to obtain them in-game!”

We’ve asked Square Enix and Eidos Montreal for clarification on the matter.

Guardians of the Galaxy heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5 on 26 October 2021. Take a look at the game below and head here for our own preview.
