Grand Theft Auto 5 heading to PS5, Xbox Series X

Grand Theft Auto 5 will head to PS5 when it launches, the PlayStation 5 Future of Gaming show has revealed.

Rockstar’s epic was the first true game to be featured, though a montage of PlayStation games from the PS1 all the way through to the PS4 were displayed ahead of this first announcement.

“With over 130 million copies sold, the record-breaking and critically acclaimed open world experience, Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PlayStation 5 in the second half of 2021 featuring a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the console’s powerful new hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever,” the trailer below has detailed.

“There will also be a new standalone version of GTA Online coming in the second half of 2021, which will be available for free exclusively for PlayStation 5 players during the first three months,” Rockstar also confirmed.

First released in 2013, Grand Theft Auto 5 has been available on Windows PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4.

The news comes alongside confirmation that all PlayStation Plus users will receive $1 million in GTA Cash every month until GTA 5 heads to the next-gen console.
