Grand Theft Auto 4 port reportedly in development for PS5, Xbox Series

And out this year.

Grand Theft Auto 4 port is reportedly in development and due to release this year, a known Rockstar insider alleges. What’s more, the port is reportedly scheduled for release this year, filling a gap made by the delay of Grand Theft Auto 6 into 2026.

Insider Tez2 has taken to the GTA Forum to say the port “should’ve gone up a year in development” and was partially responsible for Rockstar’s cease and desist of a fan-made Liberty City Preservation Project earlier in 2025.

“If [Rockstar] still follow their plan laid out from the pandemic days, they’ll do an [Max Payne 3] port after [Grand Theft Auto] 4,” the insider added. “So that is an opportunity to do a bundle or a Definitive Edition. Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, and a Max Payne 3 port.”

Rockstar has already confirmed a partnership with Remedy for Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes.

While Rockstar hasn’t confirmed any work on Grand Theft Auto 4, we do know that Grand Theft Auto 6 is planned for a 26 May 2026 release on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
