Grab Immortals Fenyx Rising for free to celebrate 5 years of Ubisoft Connect

Not a bad deal!

Ubisoft is celebrating the five-year anniversary of its Ubisoft Connect PC client by giving away a free copy of Immortals Fenyx Rising.

The Breath of the Wild-like — and a decent one, at that — will be free to claim starting 14 November here in Australia, running through to 2 December at 9.00 pm AEDT. You can claim it directly in the Ubisoft Connect client during this time, or via the Ubisoft Store.

“From day one, our goal has been to create a seamless experience for all of you – no matter where or how you play,” Ubisoft said of the app, citing improvements such as cross-progression, cross-play, and cross-platform Achievements.

Immortals Fenyx Rising was released in late 2020, and I awarded it a 7.5/10 in my review.

“Though it liberally borrows from Breath of the WildImmortals Fenyx Rising is fresh and fun, offering up an exciting new IP I hope to see more of,” I wrote at the time.

“That said, its endgame pacing issues certainly don’t do it any favours, nor does the timing of its release. Forgetting about the fact that it’s days out from Cyberpunk 2077Immortals is still Ubisoft open-world enough to make it a bit of a drag, especially after the epic undertakings that were Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.”

Happy 5th anniversary, Ubisoft Connect!
