Google Stadia returning to iOS with browser-based solution

The Google Stadia game streaming service will return to iOS with a browser-based solution, Google has recently confirmed.

Public testing of the new Stadia service on iOS will take place “several weeks from now,” Google said, also confirming it will be browser-based to bypass restrictions put in place by Apple itself. Google’s solution will mirror that of Amazon’s Luna, third-party app Stadium and — if rumours are true — plans put in place by Microsoft to bring Xbox Game Pass streaming to iOS.

Google also confirmed that those who pre-order Cyberpunk 2077 on Stadia will also receive the service’s Premiere Edition for free. Said edition includes a Google Chromecast Ultra and Stadia controller.

Stadia is not yet available in Australia.
