God of War Director has five sequels planned

God of War fans rejoice — developer Sony Santa Monica has plans for five more sequels.

Director Cory Barlog made that confirmation with Kotaku, speaking of the franchise’s development in general.

Though this God of War took five years of development, Barlog stressed that he wants “to figure out how to make these things faster.” The long development period was attributed to the change in engine and overall tone.

It’s unclear if all five of the sequels will be direct sequels to the 2018 game or if we’ll see some side spin-offs. Either way, we’re sure God of War fans are happy about the potential for games to come.

God of War is available now on PS4. We reviewed it here.
