God of War Ragnarok will ease off on puzzle hints if you want it to

God of War Ragnarok will soon lay off on puzzle hints if you don’t want them, Sony has today confirmed.

Released on PS5 back in 2022, players quickly noted that the game was far too quick to tell you how to complete a puzzle before you’d really even started it. Our own review highlighted this as well.

“As a game that encourages mopping up after battles to collect consumables, Ragnarök is far too eager to have your companion proclaim how to progress a puzzle you haven’t even seen yet,” Ben said of the title as part of his review.

Now, some two years later, that’s all about to change.

“A new option in the Gameplay Settings tab, enabling this will reduce the frequency with which you hear puzzle hints from your companions,” Sony Santa Monica’s Grace Orlady confirmed in a new blog post. The feature will debut on the newly released PC version, and will “soon” be added to the PS5 version.

God of War Ragnarok is now available on Windows PC and PS5. Don’t let all this puzzle stuff confuse you — we gave the game a 9/10 review and a ton of awards in our GOTY 2022 program.
